The Skeleton Dance at The Grace, Fri, May 08, 06 pm THE SKELETON DANCE is a play for all ages about DEATH (YAY!) It is a highly physical, energetic, and light-hearted play with elements of creative movement, clown, and puppetry - created and performed by Emma James (they/them) and Ella MacDonald (she/her). It runs approximately 50 minutes, invites structured audience participation, and is always followed by a meet-and-greet or talk back. In THE SKELETON DANCE, two young children, Emma and Ella, process the news that their Uncle Trout has suddenly passed away. They consider the implications of this in an entertaining, irreverent way, where the audience is privy to their many whimsical theories about death. Despite the subject of death being widely perceived as inherently difficult subject matter, The Skeleton Dance is playful, light-hearted and irreverent. THE SKELETON DANCE guides audiences through grief through the lens of a child: all feelings are okay, there are no bad questions, and we must process through connection and play.	External Event Page

Clothing Swap & Maker's Swap, Sat, May 09, 01 pm After the Saturday Farmers Market! CLOTHING SWAP Give your pre-loved clothing a new home while you refresh your wardrobe without spending a dime! Come by for 1:30pm and add your items to the racks and tables provided. Browse the clothes and choose some favourite new pieces to take home. Wondering what to bring? We love to see children's clothes, tops, skirts, jewelry, shoes, shorts, swimwear, bags, workwear, etc. Kindly remember - this event is a swap, not a donation bin. Let's get together to celebrate springtime and sustainable clothing choices! MAKERS SWAP If you're up for it while you browse the clothing, feel free to bring along & offer something you grew, baked, created, knit, painted, sewed, etc. to our Makers table, and then choose something to take home! No obligation to participate - it's just for fun, and trust me, it is fun. The goal is to chat and share with other creators and bring home something unique and/or delicious! The Once at The Grace, Thu, Sep 24, 07 pm A modern indie folk trio from Newfoundland, The Once have collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, numerous ECMA awards, and was named Artist of the Year by the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council. They have earned not one, but two JUNO nominations for Roots Album of the Year and continue to take their music around the world. With the release of 2024’s Out Here, The Once have delivered a thoughtful and playful assembly of songs mingling their musical roots from Newfoundland along with folk, bluegrass, country, Americana, and modern indie rock.
